You deserve belonging

You carry more than just your work.

As a Black healer, helper, or creative, you navigate systemic barriers, cultural expectations, and the weight of holding space for others — often without a space of your own.

You deserve more than burnout. You deserve belonging.

Threshold Social was created for you.

Rest.

What Threshold is

More than a wellness space — a living community.

Think of us as your sanctuary between sessions, projects, and the weight of holding the world.

Culturally-rooted wellness

Curated gatherings, workshops, and experiences rooted in rest, care, and cultural grounding.

Deep community connection

Peer-led spaces for connection, reflection, and shared care — where you're seen and supported.

Joy as resistance

Celebrate your identity, your work, and your wellness in spaces designed for rest, laughter, and joy that restores your spirit.

Is Threshold right for you?

Threshold Social was created for those who give deeply — and are ready to be held, too.

Help us expand access to care

Every contribution widens the circle of who gets to receive care.

Many of the people Threshold Social serves are caregivers, healers, and leaders — often carrying the weight of others while navigating their own need for support.

Your donation helps us provide therapy access, healing-centered programming, and community spaces that prioritize rest, reflection, and collective care.

Before you step in

Questions you might be holding

We know joining something new can come with questions. Here are a few things people often ask before stepping into Threshold.

Still wondering? Ask us directly.

Who is Threshold Social for?
Black professionals, practitioners, creatives, and changemakers — therapists, social workers, educators, artists, organizers, healthcare providers, and anyone doing healing work in the Black community. We center the Black experience and welcome all who align with our mission.
Do I need to be a therapist or wellness practitioner to join?
No. If you're holding space for others — in care work, community, creativity, or leadership — Threshold is for you.
What if I'm not sure which membership path fits me?
Reach out. We're happy to talk through the difference between Founding and General membership and what makes sense for where you are.
Is this therapy?
No. Threshold is a social and wellness club, not a clinical service. We offer community, restorative programming, and peer connection — and we help widen access to therapy through our therapy access fund.
Is financial accessibility considered?
Yes. Equity is one of our core values. Scholarships and sponsorships exist so cost isn't the reason someone stays outside the door.
Are events in-person or virtual?
Our gatherings are rooted in Richmond, Virginia and primarily in person, with 15+ events annually.

In their words

Feedback from community members

So, I didn't get a real chance to thank @thresholdsocial for allowing me to be in attendance to what I'm defining as one of the most meaningful events I've ever vended at, truly.
Community member
I came in not knowing anyone and left feeling like I'd been part of this for years. That doesn't happen often.
